Maria Ressa of the Philippines and Dmitry Muratov of Russia won the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize. Their work taking on Rodrigo Duterte and Vladimir Putin respectively should propel investigative, fact-based journalism to the forefront. It will be interesting to see how their leaders and their governments will honour the two, but they should be honoured respectfully and without persecution.
